Sunday night was our last evening in Orbe, and Monday my daughter and I drove back to Alicante. The first half of this week’s blog is about the drive home, and the rest are my usual snippets from my neighbourhood.

I have photographed this sign during last year’s visit to Orbe. I still find it charming:

A Swiss version of Garfield (and yes, we were on our way to a pizzeria):

I had noticed this farm building with most un-Swiss graffiti on the outskirts of Orbe, and I was determined to photograph it before leaving:

As we were starting the drive on Monday morning, the sky over Orbe looked decidedly threatening, and we did get a good car wash during the first 100-200 km:

But by the time we made our first stop, about 300 km into France, the weather had markedly improved:

A very cool and elaborate motorcycle in the same French rest area:

We arrived home around 11:30 pm on Monday night. On Tuesday morning, before driving to work, I took this picture of our car. Clearly, we could have used some rain on the LAST 50 km of the drive:

The rest of the pictures are just from the neighbourhood.

The little square with the Chinese fruterÃÂa, the bakery and a couple of bars is a place where I usually find photo opportunities while walking the dog:

Big and patient dog:

A builder in our urbanización. As I have noted in previous weeks, safety equipment is not widely used:

Interesting clouds, but no rain:

My daughter’s breakfast one morning. Believe it or not, this is 100% vegan:
