We came back from California late Monday night, and the following day I was back in the office. I took very few photos during the next few days, but then on Thursday I was on the road again–I drove to Barcelona after work to spend a couple of days with my daughter and Mochi the Pomeranian before bringing them back to Alicante. Monica and my wife were going to Puerto Rico on Sunday morning, and I would be babysitting Mochi for the next 10 days.

I did go on my usual morning bike rides. One morning the sky was extremely hazy, making the sunrise look quite surreal:

On Thursday I had lunch with my former trainee Romy. She had been working for a consultancy doing work at the office over the summer, but now it was time for her to go to Brussels and start a new job up there. So we had a farewell lunch at Moments:

I drove to Barcelona on Thursday afternoon, arriving there around 11 p.m. My daughter had prepared a late dinner for us, and on Friday we both worked from her apartment. In the morning I took Mochi for a walk in a park next to Monica’s apartment building, called “The Garden of Human Rights”:

The name of the park refers to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Metal slabs are scattered around the park, each reproducing one of the articles of the declaration (in Catalan, of course):

Monica lives in a quiet residential neighbourhood, and there are several modest, inexpensive restaurants in the area. We went to have lunch in one of them:

On Friday night we went for dinner in a neighbourhood called Poble Sec. While walking from the car park to the restaurant, I stopped a couple of times to photograph urban art:

We had dinner at a restaurant called Casa Xica, offering Asian/Mediterranean fusion cuisine. The food was both pretty and delicious:

On Saturday morning, Mochi gets another walk in the park before the 530 km drive to Alicante:

Sunday morning, Mochi gets his first walk on the beach since he moved to Barcelona in July:

And afterwards, he does his usual “zoomies” around the house:
