Week 06: WeArt dinner, Vuelta de la Comunidad Valenciana, beach walks

Every year Eri invites the members of the committee running the art club for dinner in her apartment. The other main event of the week was the passage of the season’s first pro bicycle race through Alicante. And of course I continued to walk Mochi on the beach as part of my morning routine.

Another nice Sunday sunrise, just like last week:

We stopped for bread at the bakery and I photographed this family of four. Normally animals are not allowed inside places that sell food, but this is Spain, a country with a pragmatic approach to rules:

In the evening, Mochi and I walked to The Place for a beer:

On Tuesday, we went for our morning walk a bit earlier than usual, still well before sunrise:

In the evening, the “junta directiva” of the art club WeArt gathered for dinner at Eri’s place (I am the treasurer of the club):

On Friday afternoon, the first race of the professional cycling season, the Vuelta de la Comunidad Valenciana, passed through Alicante. In fact, it passed by the main road near my office, but that was on a boring flat part where the peleton would be together and flash by in 30 seconds. Instead, I drove to the town of Tibi to watch the cyclists at the end of a long, hard climb. At that point, the riders had 120 km in their legs and the pack had broken up in several small groups. This is the leading group:

About 7 minutes later, the stragglers passed my spot:

On my way home, I stopped for a beer at 100 Montaditos. I didn’t think it was particularly warm, but obviously opinions were divided:
