Week 20: San Vicente and London

Last Monday I had an appointment in a suburb of Alicante called San Vicente del Raspeig. I was early, so I went for a walk in the centre of the village, which yielded the first five images.

Main
Calle Mayor is the main street of San Vicente; it has a decidedly old-fashioned look. Even though we are near Alicante, we could just as well have been 100 km inland:

I wonder if this couple ever made into the shop:

Lazy afternoon. The man with the paper was not much more mobile than the statues in the foreground:

Tuesday or Wednesday evening, another gorgeous sunset to be enjoyed from my roof terrace. I can’t wait for the construction to be finished so that I can take this picture without stupid cranes in the background:

Later that evening, our Estonian friend Reet came over for dinner:

Thursday morning we flew to Gatwick to spend 4 days in England. First stop was Crawley near the airport, to visit some good friends whom we have known since our time in Belgium (like us, they later lived in the Netherlands and have moved back to England a year or so ago). Here is Karen in full swing–she gets somewhat animated during conversations:

Friday afternoon in London, I paid a visit to one of my favourite photography shops, RG Lewis. They are located on Southhampton Row, near the Holborn station. If you are looking for a shop with modern goods but old-fashioned service, this is the place to go:
