The first week of September was all about my daughter’s dog Mochi. My wife and Monica went to Puerto Rico to visit family there (and in Monica’s case, to attend a Bad Bunny concert in San Juan). So I was alone with Mochi, and since Mochi hates being alone at home, I teleworked every afternoon so that Mochi was only alone for a few hours in the morning. And of course I carried out my parenting duties diligently, including 2 or 3 daily walks (the mid-day walk was often skipped due the heat). So all the photos in this week’s blog were taken in Mochi’s company.

My wife and daughter left Sunday morning, and my first picture is from Sunday afternoon. I am watching football while Mochi takes a nap:

In the evening, Mochi and I walked to a nearby pub called The Place. We always sit outside. I get a beer while Mochi gets a bowl of water. I always enjoy the early evening ambience:

My morning walks usually go to the beach, 500 meters from my house. This is Monday morning, before sunrise (which at this time of the year is around 7:45). A woman is waiting for the sun to appear:

Tuesday morning walk. During the day, this wooden platform is for wheelchair users, but early in the morning a group of people get together for an exercise session:

Mochi likes walking on the beach wall:

On Tuesday afternoon, we drove to 100 Montaditos, a couple of km from the house, and again Mochi jumped up on the beach wall:

We walked a bit along the promenade, passing by the memorial to Ignacio EcheverrÃa, a young Spanish lawyer murdered by the terrorists during the 2017 London Bridge attack. He had no connection to Alicante, but he was an enthusiastic skateboarder, and several skate parks around Spain have been named after him:

On Wednesday morning, I walked Mochi even earlier than usual because I had an early meeting at work. This gave me a chance to test my newly acquired 1.4/35mm lens at full aperture:

Thursday morning; the exercise group on the beach is working with weigths:

The sun appears over the Mediterranean:

Friday morning, the view of my street as I walk towards the beach:

It is not yet 8 am, but in the local fish shop they are already busy setting up for the day:

On Friday afternoon we were back at 100 Montaditos and walked past the temporary bar, called a chiringuito. It will remain for another couple of weeks, then it will be taken down until next spring:

On Saturday, we were again at The Place, and we were not the only dog family there:

Finally, the Sunday afternoon walk, past the children playing:

I am always very discreet when photographing the beach, lest I be accused of perving. This guy clearly has no such inhibitions:

And thus ended my week with Mochi.
