Week 40: Graffiti and rain

Just little vignettes from Alicante and environs.

Wednesday night I was invited to dinner in a restaurant called La Ereta. It is a place with good food and even better drinks, but one of its main attractions is the location, close to the Castillo Santa Barbara which dominates the Alicante skyline. It results in great views of the Puerta del Mar area:

On Sunday we drove to a supermarket near Benidorm specializing in German, Dutch and other northern European products. But they also had a proper Spanish seafood stand:

Later that day, my wife and I went for a bicycle ride on the beach promenade, and as often happens, we ended up in a particular bar with a nice beer selection:

One day I happened upon a group of wall painters. This was clearly graffiti that was being created with the building owner’s (at least implicit) consent:

The weather was actually not nearly as nice as the previous picture indicates, or rather, it changed for the worse as the afternoon wore on:
