Week 37: all cycling

The week after my trip to Madrid was very busy at the office, so all the photos in this weekly instalment were taken during my morning and weekend bicycle rides.

At the weekend at the start of the week, I cycled to Aigües as I often do. There was a small market on the square–life is returning to normal–and there was also some kind of event to teach children the art of baking. The leaders were teenage girls, the participants were little kids. Here is one of the leaders giving instructions:

Corona is still with us, so little hands must be sanitised first:

The children certainly enjoyed the event, small-town life at its best:

This lady asked me where I lived, and then expressed admiration of my climbing up from sea level to the village (which is at around 350 meters altitude). I explained to her that this was small beer for me. She turned out to be Dutch, but had lived in the village for many years. She had a stand of things made out of trash. She told me that she was not in it for the money but rather she wanted to show her neighbours that beautiful things could made out of discarded items:

The next day I cycled to Jijona. This is a typical scene in the town. People are having their breakfast at one of the cafés:

I took my break on a bench by this mural, which matches very well with the actual street in the background:

A plaque in Jijona, honouring two local women who apparently lived a good Christian life in the good sense of the word:

During my weekday pre-work rides, I had the opportunity to see familiar places like Busot in lovely morning light:

On weekdays, I usually go for my rides between 7:30 and 9:00. Now that we are past the autumnal equinox, this means that I get to see the sunrise every morning:

During the Saturday ride, I stopped to enjoy the morning light falling on the grape plantations near Agost:
