A short work week because Thursday and Friday were holidays at our office. At the same time, my wife went on a golf trip and my daughter to a work social event, so I was alone with Mochi for four days. So the photos this week are all from around my home and of course I cycled as well.<\/p>\n

\nBesides walking Mochi, I use the beach to sit with a beer on the promenade and watch the traffic. This artist is often there next to the 100 Montaditos, although I have never seen her selling anything:

\nSunday morning, my daughter and wife went for breakfast with Mochi at a nearby caf\u00c3\u00a9. I stopped by to say hi when starting my bike ride to Santa Pola:

\nMy first stop, after 19 km, at the beach of Urbanova, south of Alicante. It was early, so not many people on the beach yet, mainly some people fishing:

\nA bit later, I passed Alicante airport and stopped at a place often frequented by planespotters:

\nThe next stop was in the Santa Pola harbour. On a Sunday, most boats are in port:

\nOn the coastal road from Santa Pola northwards to Alicante, I stopped at this tiny roadside chapel. I am always fascinated by these places:

\nMy mother’s cactus went completely nuts during this week:

\nWhen walking Mochi, he is fascinated by the cats we encounter. They, in turn, make sure that they are in a place which the doggie cannot reach:

\nSeeing this kind of scene, I always think back to the quote from Jurassic Park, “nature will find a way”:

\nDuring the days I was alone with Mochi, I walked him to the beach in the morning. Normally he gets 3 walks per day, but this week it was far too hot to walk him at lunchtime, so I made the evening walk, usually around 8 p.m., a bit longer, with a stop at a nice bar called simply The Place. He is curious about the surroundings on the terrace:

\nAnd he also enjoys watching the passers-by:

\nRecently, this “for sale” sign appeared along the road to Aigues. The amusing thing is that it offers a piece of land “with a house”:
