The week started in Denmark. I flew home Monday morning and went back to work. The rest of the week was mainly about work, but we also mounted a photo exhibition at the office, and the week ended with a backyard paella made in the most traditional manner.<\/p>\n

\nMonday morning Lars drove me to Billund airport, the main airport in Jutland, about 80 km from Aarhus. It was a typical foggy autumn morning in Denmark:

\nBillund is the home of Lego, the world’s leading toy company, so unsurprisingly, the airport is suitably decorated:

\nTuesday I was back in the office. Our art club, WeArt, has been given an exhibition space in the office. We intend to use it mainly to showcase local artists, but to start, we put on an exhibition of B&W photos made by people in the office:

\nWith its glass walls, it is not an optimal space to exhibit photos or paintings, but it is still nice to have this space:

\nMy friend Eri and I go for lunch outside the office once a month, and this time we went to a quirky restaurant in the centre called Cucaracha:

\nMy Magic Cactus gave me another flower this week:

\nWe finished the week with a lunch with our friends, hosted by Roberto and Mariluz in Benidorm. We arrived, and spent some time talking, having some wine, and enjoying some snacks:

\nThe cat of the house was clearly interested:

\nMeanwhile, Roberto was tending to the paella, prepared in the traditional way. The origins of the dish are the shepherds in the mountains who cooked rice with rabbit and chicken in exactly this way:

\nIt is a labour-intensive way to prepare a paella:

\nThe chicken pieces. This is the traditional paella valenciana<\/em>. The paella most people think of, with shrimp etc., is a newer creation called paella de mariscos<\/em>:
