Our exhibition at the office was formally inaugurated on Thursday, and on Friday we met up with a local artist who showed us around his exhibition on the centre of Alicante. And the city is now decorated for Christmas. So a colourful blog  this week in more than one respect.<\/p>\n<p><strong>46_1<\/strong>:<br \/>\nWe formally opened the exhibition at lunchtime on Thursday, coinciding with the semi-annual meeting of our management board. A subset of the exhibitors posing for a photo, including yours truly:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2021\/46_1.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0803\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>46_2<\/strong>:<br \/>\nI took some posed pictures on request, such as this one of my two Greek friends, Lila and Eri:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2021\/46_2.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0815\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>46_3<\/strong>:<br \/>\nEri wanted a photo with me as well:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2021\/46_3.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0825\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>46_4<\/strong>:<br \/>\nLila with her ceramics:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2021\/46_4.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0832\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>46_5<\/strong>:<br \/>\nOur first visitor on the day, Patricia (a Dutch colleague):<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2021\/46_5.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0796\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>46_6<\/strong>:<br \/>\nLila explains her stuff to another visitor:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2021\/46_6.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0816\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>46_7<\/strong>:<br \/>\nI started Friday morning with my usual bike ride, and saw some nice morning light, not over the sea but over the hills:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2021\/46_7.jpg\" alt=\"1010926\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>46_8<\/strong>:<br \/>\nAnd Friday evening, I saw some lovely late afternoon light on the hill overlooking Alicante, with the Moorish Castillo Santa Barbara at the top:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2021\/46_8.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0836\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>46_9<\/strong>:<br \/>\nWe were in the centre to meet up with local artist Aurelio Ayela. He showed us around his exhibition at the Museo del Agua (called that because it is owned by the local water utility). This installation is called El Reino Ca\u00c3\u00addo (the fallen kingdom). Photographing in that light was a challenge, to put it mildly:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2021\/46_9.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0842\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>46_10<\/strong>:<br \/>\nColumna de Agua y Platos (column of water and plates):<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2021\/46_10.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0852\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>46_11<\/strong>:<br \/>\nAfter the visit to Aurelio&#8217;s exhibition we walked to a nearby bar.
