No trips this week, just work and cycling. So most of the pictures were taken while prowling the roads of Alicante province on my bicycle, or at the office. In any event, all pictures are within a radius of 20 km from home, in contrast to previous weeks. The pictures are presented strictly chronologically.<\/p>\n

\nMonday afternoon, a rare occurrence–fog obscuring the view of Alicante from our terrace:

\nLili the Cheese Pusher makes delicious goat cheese in her Queser\u00c3\u00ada de Tibi, and comes to the office every Tuesday afternoon to deliver the orders that she has received during the week, using a spreadsheet she has set up on Google Docs:

\nLili is originally from the German-speaking part of Switzerland. How a Swiss lady ends up making goat cheese in a mountain village 50 km from Alicante is something I have not yet figured out:

\nWednesday morning, interesting clouds over our neighbourhood while walking the dog:

\nThursday was a holiday, so I cycled north to Villajoyosa and Benidorm. On the way, I stopped to photograph this amusing piece of road art along the N332, the old Valencia road:

\nOnce arrived in Villajoyosa, I took a break on the beach promenade. A couple of boys were performing acrobatic moves on the paseo<\/em>, presumably hoping to attract attention from the young people on the beach. Initially they were largely ignored:

\nBut a few minutes later, they definitely had an audience:

\nOn Friday afternoon, I had an errand on my way home from work (to explore a beer shop someone told me about, important stuff in other words). Afterwards, I walked a bit around the centre. This is one of the nicest squares in the barrio of Alicante, Plaza Gabriel Mir\u00c3\u00b3:

\nFriday night, we went to eat at our local modest tapas place, Los Charros. While waiting for my order of pig shank, I checked out the other patrons, as one does:

\nSaturday morning. I cycled up to the mountains. On the way, I passed this house, which I photographed earlier this year. Someone had written pro-Spain slogans and painted the Spanish flag. Now, Catalan separatists have been at work too:

\nSaturday night, we went to another wine-and-food evening at Finca Otero in Aig\u00c3\u00bces, an utterly delightful place run by delightful people. Here is Peter, preparing some appetizers on the BBQ:
