The town&#8217;s restaurants had set up tents in the central square with a subset of their usual menu selections. That way, the visitors could sample all the cuisine available in Amersfoort in one place. The weather had been nice all day, until we drove there in the afternoon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main<\/strong><br \/>\nBut by the time we got into the centre of the town, it was a different story, weather-wise:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2007\/21.jpg\" alt=\"1452\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nThe alternates<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 1<\/em><br \/>\nUmbrellas were the order of the day:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2007\/21alt1.jpg\" alt=\"1457\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 2<\/em><br \/>\nWhile walking from the car park to the square, I pointed my camera at various sights, like this bar door:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2007\/21alt2.jpg\" alt=\"1427\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 3<\/em><br \/>\nOr this comfortable little dog:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2007\/21alt3.jpg\" alt=\"1431\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 4<\/em><br \/>\nOnce on the restaurant square, we found a table under cover. As it happened, it was a Japanese restaurant, which was perfect since my daughter will kill for sushi.
