However, we did have a couple of nice events to break the monotony: our monthly wine tasting at the office, and our annual sushi picnic in a nearby park.<\/p>\n<p><strong>21_1<\/strong><br \/>\nI start with three dog-walk pictures, however. Here is a tree that evidently has been watered with Viagra:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2012\/21_1.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0307\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>21_2<\/strong><br \/>\nDrip irrigation is extensively used around here, which is the right thing to do in an arid area like Alicante. Sometimes it goes wrong, though:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2012\/21_2.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0309\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>21_3<\/strong><br \/>\nMorning sunlight streaming through the fence of the golf course. One of &#8220;my&#8221; homeless cats is looking at me:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2012\/21_3.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0320\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>21_4<\/strong><br \/>\nOur Communications department has recently started a programme of interviewing people in the office and posting the resulting video on our Intranet. The title is &#8220;Hola, \u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00bfque tal?&#8221;, and the idea is to get a personal portrait of the interview victim. This week it was my turn, and Elena interviewed me for about 45 minutes, on topics ranging from Communist Poland to photography, cycling, Belgian beer and other important topics:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2012\/21_4.jpg\" alt=\"IGP4817\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>21_5<\/strong><br \/>\nOn Thursday at lunchtime, we had our annual sushi picnic in a nearby park. This is an initiative of this guy, Daniel Dubois. Daniel is Belgian but he has a deep interest in Japanese culture and food, probably spurred on by his passion for martial arts:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2012\/21_5.jpg\" alt=\"IGP4822\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>21_6<\/strong><br \/>\nYvonne is German, but she is quite proficient at sushi-making:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2012\/21_6.jpg\" alt=\"IGP4824\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>21_7<\/strong><br \/>\nReady to roll:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2012\/21_7.jpg\" alt=\"IGP4823\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>21_8<\/strong><br \/>\nFirst batch:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2012\/21_8.jpg\" alt=\"IGP4825\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>21_9<\/strong><br \/>\nDaniel making the second batch, se\u00c3\u0192\u00c2\u00b1oritas looking on admiringly:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2012\/21_9.jpg\" alt=\"IGP4829\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>21_10<\/strong><br \/>\nThat evening, we had our monthly wine tasting. The presenter was very expressive and very opinionated:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2012\/21_10.jpg\" alt=\"IGP4846\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>21_11<\/strong><br \/>\nAnother opinion being expressed:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2012\/21_11.jpg\" alt=\"IGP4847\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>21_12<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter the tasting, we eat dinner on the terrace. A hard day comes to an end:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2012\/21_12.jpg\" alt=\"IGP4850\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>21_13<\/strong><br \/>\nAnd finally, my daughter ready for school Friday morning. This week they have their spring break, and when they return to school on June 4th, a month of crucial exams awaits before they graduate in early July.
