Work intruded too much on life. So the pictures are mostly from my dog walks, and from Sunday afternoon at the Game Caf\u00c3\u0192\u00c2\u00a9 on Playa San Juan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8_1<\/strong><br \/>\nAn almost symbolic scene around here: yet another small business closed (in this case a fishmonger), with the flag hanging from an apartment above. The number of Spanish flags displayed by individuals has risen sharply following the World Cup victory in 2010:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2012\/8_1.jpg\" alt=\"DSF1387\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>8_2<\/strong><br \/>\nBreakfast, outside the bakery where I buy a baguette most mornings:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2012\/8_2.jpg\" alt=\"DSF1389\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>8_3<\/strong><br \/>\nI have recently started photographing the tree roots in the neighbourhood, some of which are visually quite interesting:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2012\/8_3.jpg\" alt=\"DSF1395\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>8_4<\/strong><br \/>\nMore tree roots:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2012\/8_4.jpg\" alt=\"DSF1397\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sunday afternoon we went to the Game Caf\u00c3\u0192\u00c2\u00a9 for our usual spot of live music and cheap pints.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8_5<\/strong><br \/>\nPierre in the foreground:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2012\/8_5.jpg\" alt=\"L1007149\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>8_6<\/strong><br \/>\nDarren in the foreground:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2012\/8_6.jpg\" alt=\"L1007158\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>8_7<\/strong><br \/>\nMember of the audience.
