\nSaturday morning we loaded the car at set off for Madrid, 430 km away, at 5:30 a.m. Around 8 a.m. we stopped to fill up the car. In the light of dawn, even a motorway petrol station takes on a special look:

\nHaving dropped off my family at Madrid’s Barajas airport, I headed home, now in glorious daylight. On the way I stopped once, somewhere in Castilla La Mancha. This is the land of Don Quijote, but the windmills are not exactly like the ones he fought against:
