The first half of this week&#8217;s blog is about the drive home, and the rest are my usual snippets from my neighbourhood.<\/p>\n<p><strong>29_1<\/strong><br \/>\nI have photographed this sign during last year&#8217;s visit to Orbe. I still find it charming:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2011\/29_1.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0135\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>29_2<\/strong><br \/>\nA Swiss version of Garfield (and yes, we were on our way to a pizzeria):<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2011\/29_2.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0133\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>29_3<\/strong><br \/>\nI had noticed this farm building with most un-Swiss graffiti on the outskirts of Orbe, and I was determined to photograph it before leaving:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2011\/29_3.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0143\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>29_4<\/strong><br \/>\nAs we were starting the drive on Monday morning, the sky over Orbe looked decidedly threatening, and we did get a good car wash during the first 100-200 km:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2011\/29_4.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0145\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>29_5<\/strong><br \/>\nBut by the time we made our first stop, about 300 km into France, the weather had markedly improved:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2011\/29_5.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0150\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>29_6<\/strong><br \/>\nA very cool and elaborate motorcycle in the same French rest area:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2011\/29_6.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0153\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>29_7<\/strong><br \/>\nWe arrived home around 11:30 pm on Monday night. On Tuesday morning, before driving to work, I took this picture of our car. Clearly, we could have used some rain on the LAST 50 km of the drive:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2011\/29_7.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0154\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The rest of the pictures are just from the neighbourhood.<\/p>\n<p><strong>29_8<\/strong><br \/>\nThe little square with the Chinese fruter\u00c3\u0192\u00c2\u00ada, the bakery and a couple of bars is a place where I usually find photo opportunities while walking the dog:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2011\/29_8.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0159\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>29_9<\/strong><br \/>\nBig and patient dog:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2011\/29_9.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0168\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>29_10<\/strong><br \/>\nA builder in our urbanizaci\u00c3\u0192\u00c2\u00b3n. As I have noted in previous weeks, safety equipment is not widely used:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2011\/29_10.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0163\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>29_11<\/strong><br \/>\nInteresting clouds, but no rain:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2011\/29_11.jpg\" alt=\"L1005555\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>29_12<\/strong><br \/>\nMy daughter&#8217;s breakfast one morning.
