Most people came back from their summer vacations on Monday August 31st, and the level of activity quickly accelerated from the summer hiatus to the busy autumn (even though outside, it is still very much summer). So most of this week&#8217;s photos are from the daily morning walks with Mochi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>36_1<\/strong><br \/>\nOne of the feline inhabitants of the neighbourhood:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_1.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0282\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_2<\/strong><br \/>\nSunrise is around 7:30 these days, so Mochi and I often arrive on the beach before the sun appears. The colours are soft, and there are few people at that time. On Tuesday morning there was a lone paddle boarder:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_2.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0284\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_3<\/strong><br \/>\nThe sun appears:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_3.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0286\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_4<\/strong><br \/>\nThe unofficial beach &#8220;hotel&#8221;:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_4.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0291\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_5<\/strong><br \/>\nOn Wednesday morning, the wind was blowing in:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_5.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0292\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_6<\/strong><br \/>\nA pre-dawn swim:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_6.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0294\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_7<\/strong><br \/>\nOn Thursday morning, there were a few people on the beach, waiting for sunrise:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_7.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0295\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_8<\/strong><br \/>\nOne of the many photo sessions that I see on the beach during these morning walks:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_8.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0296\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_9<\/strong><br \/>\nI also see many people like this woman, just sitting in the sand and looking at the rising sun:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_9.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0302\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_10<\/strong><br \/>\nThe typical sunrise picture:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_10.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0304\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_11<\/strong><br \/>\nAnother way to look at the morning sun:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_11.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0303\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_12<\/strong><br \/>\nThis woman was serious about her selfie session:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_12.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0306\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_13<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_13.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0308\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_14<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_14.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0305\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_15<\/strong><br \/>\nOn Friday, Eri and I met for lunch, this time in a small Italian restaurant in the centre. I had never been there but Eri was familiar with it, and it turned out to be wonderful:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_15.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0313\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_16<\/strong><br \/>\nAfterwards, Eri walked home (she lives about 1.5-2 km from the restaurant and was teleworking that day) while I walked to the car park and drove back to the office. Before saying goodbye, a quick photo in the street:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_16.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0315\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_17<\/strong><br \/>\nOn Saturday morning, it was back to the walks. I snapped a quick photo of the morning light shining on a woman opening a caf\u00e9; she looked a bit suspicious:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_17.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0316\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_18<\/strong><br \/>\nThe sunrise exercise crew:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_18.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0317\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_19<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Magic Cactus had bloomed while we were in California the previous week (our daughter had sent a photo). By the time we came home on Sunday evening, the flowers had wilted, but now, less than a week later, it was back in business:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_19.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0323\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_20<\/strong><br \/>\nOne of the &#8220;children&#8221; of the cactus got into the act too:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2026\/36_20.jpg\" alt=\"DSF0324\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>36_21<\/strong><br \/>\nI continue to be amazed by the performance of my newly acquired 90mm Viltrox lens.
