My sister and brother-in-law from Poland were here to spend the holidays with me, and between Christmas and New Year we spent three days visiting Andaluc\u00c3\u0192\u00c2\u00ada. Most of the pictures are from that trip. A full gallery is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.frozenlight.eu\/andalucia2009\/\" onclick=\"_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'outbound-article', 'http:\/\/www.frozenlight.eu\/andalucia2009\/', 'here']);\" >here<\/a>, but please look at the PAWs below first \ud83d\ude42 <\/p>\n<p><strong>Main<\/strong><br \/>\nThe A7 motorway runs southwards from Alicante, towards Murcia and then into Andaluc\u00c3\u0192\u00c2\u00ada, to cities such as Almer\u00c3\u0192\u00c2\u00ada and M\u00c3\u0192\u00c2\u00a1laga, from where ferries to North Africa depart. The Arab cultural influence was visible in this particular rest area:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/52.jpg\" alt=\"P1010128\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nAlternates<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 1<\/em><br \/>\nWe started the trip in Seville, my favourite Spanish city. One of the nicest spots is Plaza de Espa\u00c3\u0192\u00c2\u00b1a, a big square decorated with murals depicting important historical events in each of the country&#8217;s provinces:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/52alt1.jpg\" alt=\"BessaR2_2009_6_005\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 2<\/em><br \/>\nThe next day we went to Gibraltar, a place I had not visited before. I was hoping for a piece of England but with good weather, and that is exactly what I got:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/52alt2.jpg\" alt=\"BessaR2_2009_6_025\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 3<\/em><br \/>\nMy sister at the Gibraltar restaurant where we had fish &#038; chips for lunch. To be able to eat outside in late December is a real luxury:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/52alt3.jpg\" alt=\"BessaR2_2009_7_003\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 4<\/em><br \/>\nA place where we had both after-dinner drinks and breakfast the next morning, in the town of Algeciras, about 20 km from Gibraltar:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/52alt4.jpg\" alt=\"BessaR2_2009_7_021\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 5<\/em><br \/>\nWe drove on to Granada, our final destination on this trip.
