When I cycle, the first rest stop is the harbour in El Campello, almost exactly 10 km from my house. It is a nice place with a lot of life going on at all times.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main<\/strong><br \/>\nAt the weekend, I cycled to a secluded area north of Alicante called Coveta Fuma. It certainly provided an intense workout in the heat, as it is quite hilly:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/34.jpg\" alt=\"L1007068\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nThe alternates<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 1<\/em><br \/>\nSome lucky people have nice houses right on a private beach:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/34alt1.jpg\" alt=\"L1007067\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 2<\/em><br \/>\nEl Campello is a touristy beach community, but just a few km inland one can see sights like this:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/34alt2.jpg\" alt=\"L1007083\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 3<\/em><br \/>\nOne of the permanent inhabitants of El Campello harbour:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/34alt3.jpg\" alt=\"L1007099\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 4<\/em><br \/>\nNo week can be complete without a se\u00c3\u0192\u00c2\u00b1orita:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/34alt4.jpg\" alt=\"L1007107\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 5<\/em><br \/>\nLooking for the catch:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/34alt5.jpg\" alt=\"L1007112\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 6<\/em><br \/>\nInside the fish auction in El Campello. Clearly she was not homeless. My guess is that she had been out all night (as is customary here on Friday or Saturday nights) and simply decided that she could not make it home:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/34alt9.jpg\" alt=\"L1007116\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 10<\/em><br \/>\nJust some backlit leaves:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/34alt10.jpg\" alt=\"L1007108\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 11<\/em><br \/>\nOn Saturday morning, I went to the Mercado Central to buy some fish and herbs. As I usually do, I first hung around outside a bit.
