In the morning I like to look at the birds using the crane as a rest stop:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/17.jpg\" alt=\"L1004246\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nThe alternates<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 1<\/em><br \/>\nA father looks on while his little girl plays on a public playground in the centre of Alicante:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/17alt1.jpg\" alt=\"L1004236\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 2<\/em><br \/>\nFriday was our dog&#8217;s 8th birthday, so of course she was going to get a present&#8211;not a cake, but a nice, raw entrecote:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/17alt2.jpg\" alt=\"L1004358\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 3<\/em><br \/>\nCheeta had to pose for a picture before the candles were removed and she could enjoy her present:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/17alt3.jpg\" alt=\"L1004360\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 4<\/em><br \/>\nOne of my many snaps while walking the dog:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/17alt4.jpg\" alt=\"L1004370\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 5<\/em><br \/>\nOn Sunday afternoon my colleague Fran\u00c3\u0192\u00c2\u00a7ois had invited us for a barbecue at his house. It is rare to see a proper lawn in Alicante:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/17alt5.jpg\" alt=\"L1004377\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 6<\/em><br \/>\nSince Fran\u00c3\u0192\u00c2\u00a7ois is French, we expected the food to be good, and we were not disappointed:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/17alt6.jpg\" alt=\"L1004380\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 7<\/em><br \/>\nHis little dog waited patiently, in full knowledge that he too would benefit:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2009\/17alt7.jpg\" alt=\"L1004376\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And so a pleasant week ended.
