We rented a truck for a couple of days, and the guys who are working on the remodeling of the new house helped with the move. Basically, they did the heavy lifting and I was the truck driver. I took fewer photos than I might normally have done, since I was there to work. But I did manage a few, especially of the most delicate and difficult part of the move&#8211;the grand piano.<\/p>\n<p><strong>35_1<\/strong><br \/>\nThe start of the ordeal. The piano is being readied for transport:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2018\/35_1.jpg\" alt=\"R004423\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>35_2<\/strong><br \/>\nThe first challenge was to get the beast into the truck. The driveway slopes and because of a low overhang it is not possible to drive the truck all the way down. So some muscle power is needed here:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2018\/35_2.jpg\" alt=\"R004426\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>35_3<\/strong><br \/>\nBut finally it is done, and a well-deserved breather is taken:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2018\/35_3.jpg\" alt=\"R004427\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>35_4<\/strong><br \/>\nFour km later, we are at the new house. Time to unload the beast:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2018\/35_4.jpg\" alt=\"R004429\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>35_5<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2018\/35_5.jpg\" alt=\"R004430\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>35_6<\/strong><br \/>\nPushing 300 kg of piano up just three steps onto the terrace is a challenge:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2018\/35_6.jpg\" alt=\"R004433\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>35_7<\/strong><br \/>\nChallenge met:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2018\/35_7.jpg\" alt=\"R004434\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>35_8<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter some more huffing, puffing and sweat, the piano is finally in the living room. It has not been used much in the last few years but my wife swears that she will start playing again. She better:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2018\/35_8.jpg\" alt=\"R004438\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>35_9<\/strong><br \/>\nThen it was time to move other stuff, easy by comparison:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2018\/35_9.jpg\" alt=\"R004440\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>35_10<\/strong><br \/>\nThe truck driver, unshaven and sweaty from moving stuff in beautiful sunshine and temperatures on the wrong side of 30C:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2018\/35_10.jpg\" alt=\"R004441\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>35_11<\/strong><br \/>\nThe last day in the old house. We have moved all the stuff, now it is time to finish cleaning up the place before handing in the keys to the owner the next day. The orange cats came by for a last meal:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2018\/35_11.jpg\" alt=\"DSF2801\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>35_12<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2018\/35_12.jpg\" alt=\"DSF2804\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>35_13<\/strong><br \/>\nMany parties and much fun has been had in this room during the past 10 years:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2018\/35_13.jpg\" alt=\"DSF2810\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>35_14<\/strong><br \/>\nDriving away for the last time&#8211;I think the cat knows:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2018\/35_14.jpg\" alt=\"DSF2816\" \/><\/p>\n<p>My wife will check on the cats when she plays golf, and she promises to take food for them.
