So not that much photography this week, and what there is, is mainly the result of always carrying a camera in the handlebar bag of my bicycle.

34_1
The first image is the last photo I took in Poland. We spent Monday night in a hotel near Modlin airport, about 30 km from Warsaw. We were tired, so we just hung out on the terrace of our modest hotel and ate dinner in the hotel restaurant. I took this informal portrait of Curra, my wife’s bridge partner, a lady with an extremely sharp mind and a keen sense of observation, who turned 83 three days later. An amazing lady indeed:

34_2
Back home, our beach looked threatening one day, although the rain stayed out at sea:

34_3
The road to Busot, also under a cloudy sky:

34_4
Details of the landscape; these roads are my playground on two wheels:

34_5
I kept feeding the orange cats, albeit with a tinge of sadness, knowing that soon they would come to this house and not find us (or, more importantly, the food) anymore:

34_6
My mother’s magic cactus gave us one last glorious burst of flowers at the home we are about to leave after 10 years:

34_7
We spent much of our time driving back and forth between the two houses, ferrying boxes and assorted other possessions. This is the street on which we will live from now on, a road in the older part of El Campello, less than 500 meters from the beach. In this block there was once a cinema; today there is a bar, a tobacco shop, a butcher shop, and apartments:

34_8
The fig tree in our garden yields fruit but the birds get to it before we do:

The last four images are from Aigues, my usual cycling destination. Typical small-town life.

34_9
The men hang out in front of the Casa Alejandro, one of three bars on the square:

34_10
There was a fiesta on the square the night before, and it will continue tonight:

34_11
Reading the morning paper at Casa Alejandro:

34_12
The main street of Aigues, containing the town hall/police station (there is 1 police officer as far as I can tell), most of the town’s shops, and of course a few more bars.
