\nAlmost every Saturday I go to the Mercado Central to buy goodies for the weekend. This time I saw some pretty girls dressed up for an occasion, and I was not the only one looking at them:

\nInside the Mercado, I continued my research into the looks of meat vs. vegetable vendors. This girl is slicing ham. I’d say it is one point for the butchers:

\nThe Volvo Ocean Race starts from Alicante on October 11th. The boats are in the harbour, undergoing the last preparations and testing:

\nAround the pier where the boats are moored, a Race Village has been constructed, with all manner of attractions for young and old:

\nWhile the girl in the preceding image took the spinning in her stride, this (admittedly younger) boy was somewhat uncertain about the whole experience:

\nEvery Sunday, there is a small antiques\/junk\/coins & stamps market in the square in front of the town hall:

\nWhen I take my dog for a walk, the local cats do not always look kindly on us:

\nAnother dog walk picture, a small shopping centre 5 minutes walk from my house. Its main attraction for me are the dry cleaners where I take my suits and, more importantly, the all-you-can-eat Chinese restaurant:

\nOn the outskirts of Alicante there is a neighbourhood called Santa Faz, centred on a monastery of the same name. This is the street that runs alongside the monastery:
