It is August, it is hot, and not much is happening in Alicante, except on the beaches.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main<\/strong><br \/>\nThis is Postiguet beach in the centre of town on a typical Sunday afternoon:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2008\/33.jpg\" alt=\"8170288\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nThe alternates<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 1<\/em><br \/>\nJesus on the beach:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2008\/33alt1.jpg\" alt=\"8170286\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 2<\/em><br \/>\nI took Wednesday afternoon off to be with my family&#8211;it was our 25th wedding anniversary. We started with an afternoon visit at the beach bar. Here is my son, imitating the Miami Vice look:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2008\/33alt2.jpg\" alt=\"8130278\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 3<\/em><br \/>\nThe wind was blowing hard from the sea, and I got my daughter to loosen her hair for photographic purposes:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2008\/33alt3.jpg\" alt=\"8130281\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 4<\/em><br \/>\nAnother cute waitress:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2008\/33alt4.jpg\" alt=\"8163795\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then a couple of morning pictures.<\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 5<\/em><br \/>\nThe golf course is watered daily:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2008\/33alt5.jpg\" alt=\"8113761\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 6<\/em><br \/>\nA street in the centre of Alicante. The water in the middle is not from rain, but rather a result of the street having been hosed down earlier in the morning.
