Another week of work and cycling and running errands, so more slices of Alicante life for my blog.<\/p>\n

33_1<\/strong>
\nI often photograph “my” golf course kitties, but then, they are <\/strong>so cute, especially when the family lounges around in the sun:

\nNow to the office, where we were at it again…one of our colleagues, Peter, a seconded national expert from the Swedish IP office, is leaving us after four years to go back to Sweden. He is very well liked, and so lots of people showed up to his leaving do. And then there was the food, of course:

\nPeter got the usual funny gifts one gets on such occasions:

\nAnd then we drank some wine and more animated conversation ensued:

\nJust to prove that we also do actual work in this office, here are some of the same people engaged in more serious pursuits. Because of lack of meeting rooms, we have a meeting table set up in the corridor outside my office, which sometimes provides me with pictures opportunities:

\nBut then Friday afternoon arrived, and Carolina had some cava <\/em>from Catalonia that we had to try, albeit in a rather undignified way as we forgot to score some champagne glasses:

\nEven though our new building was finished this past winter, there is some remodeling going on. This is what our former cafeteria in the old building looks like right now. It is being transformed into a restaurant with a winter garden:

\nEnough office stuff. Wednesday evening I had to pick up someone at the airport, and while waiting, I snapped this picture of a couple greeting each other in the arrivals lounge:

\nAnother Alicante snapshot. This is the entrance to a bank. I took this picture in the afternoon. The bank itself was already closed, I think–I just used the cash machine. But I was surprised to find the mattress in there. Banks (and businesses in general) around here are tolerant of homeless people, but I did not think they were that <\/strong>tolerant:

\nSaturday morning dog walk. Leftovers from Friday night are clearly in evidence on Avenida Vicente Ramos:

\nCycling near Busot after work–for once, we had some interesting clouds at sunset:

\nOur Director of Community and Social Affairs, aka my wife, had decreed a BBQ party for Saturday night. So selected friends were summoned, among them Eliot the Argentine who can make anything barbecued taste good:

\nEven after dark it was still hot outside, so some of the guests stayed in the den. The lady in the middle is our next-door neighbour:
