Thursday was a holiday in Spain, so of course I took Friday off and spent four days with my wife and daughter. But before that, there was a street market in Alicante on Sunday to benefit various charities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main<\/strong><br \/>\nAlicante wildlife:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2007\/49.jpg\" alt=\"C021618\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nThe alternates<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 1<\/em><br \/>\nThis is December, but still the sun is shining on Postiguet beach:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2007\/49alt1.jpg\" alt=\"C021616\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 2<\/em><br \/>\nShopping at the flea market:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2007\/49alt2.jpg\" alt=\"C021627\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 3<\/em><br \/>\nI was attracted to the baloons, yes:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2007\/49alt3.jpg\" alt=\"C021634\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 4<\/em><br \/>\nOn the way back home, I stopped at a marina that can best be described as the low-rent district of Alicante boating:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2007\/49alt4.jpg\" alt=\"C021640\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The rest of the alternates are from the latter part of the week, spent in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 5<\/em><br \/>\nWe went shopping in Almere Centrum, and so did a few others&#8211;although the man in this image does not seem too eager:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2007\/49alt5.jpg\" alt=\"C061660\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Alternate 6<\/em><br \/>\nOn Saturday, we took advantage of a few hours with good weather (meaning absence of rain) and walked around in Amsterdam.
