Perhaps the heat puts a damper on everything.<\/p>\n<p><strong>34_1<\/strong><br \/>\nBecause this was the last week I had with my son for the next several months, I tried to spend a lot of time with him. One day we met up for lunch at Capricho de Raquel, one of his favourite restaurants:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2013\/34_1.jpg\" alt=\"L1009753\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>34_2<\/strong><br \/>\nOn Sunday, I cycled to Benidorm, stopping along the way to photograph this old carriage, left as a decoration, with Alicante in the background on the right:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2013\/34_2.jpg\" alt=\"_1010356\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>34_3<\/strong><br \/>\nI have photographed this road many times. Usually the light is harsh and nasty, but this morning it was nicer than usual:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2013\/34_3.jpg\" alt=\"_1010357\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>34_4<\/strong><br \/>\nA roadside memorial near Benidorm:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2013\/34_4.jpg\" alt=\"_1010360\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>34_5<\/strong><br \/>\nThe summer in Alicante is hot, and the pets, especially the dog, spend most of the day seeking relief from the heat and using as little energy as possible:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2013\/34_5.jpg\" alt=\"_1010362\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>34_6<\/strong><br \/>\nA more horizontal view of Cheeta:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2013\/34_6.jpg\" alt=\"_1010364\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>34_7<\/strong><br \/>\nOur neighbour&#8217;s little dog had major surgery earlier this year, but he seems to have recovered well:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"uploads\/2013\/34_7.jpg\" alt=\"L1009747\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>34_8<\/strong><br \/>\nYet another reason I dislike golf and golf courses. Every few weeks, the place get fumigated so that the precious golfers do not get bitten by mosquitos.
