Since I started this blog in 2005, I have enjoyed the fact that people have posted comments to the articles. However, in recent months the amount of comment spam has increased to such a degree that it is becoming a burden to deal with it.
I have therefore instituted a new policy: by default, readers cannot post comments on an entry. When I post a new entry, I will open it for comments for one week and will then close it to further comments.
I hate to do it, but the other measures I have tried to combat comment spam have not worked, so I have to do this.
